Famous Hollywood actor Ashton Kutcher has set up an organization to fight against child trafficking. The actor’s ex-wife Demi Moore is the co-founder of the organization.
The actor has identified over 2,000 children who have been victims of sexual abuse.
The ‘No Strings Attached’ actor recently gave a highly emotional speech at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee where he extensively talked about child sexual abuse and want measures need to be taken to eradicate this issue from the society.
The actor founded the organization ‘Thorn: Digital Defenders of Children’ with his ex-wife Demi Moore way back in 2009 and since then the organization has done wonders in this regard. The organization builds software in order to eradicate human trafficking.
The software has helped recognizing over 6000 victims of modern slavery in the last six months, the actor added.
The Hollywood star further added, “As part of my anti-trafficking work, I’ve met victims in Russia, I’ve met victims in India, I’ve met victims that have been trafficked from Mexico, victims from New York and New Jersey and all across our country.
“I’ve been on FBI raids where I’ve seen things that no person should ever see. I’ve seen video content of a child that’s the same age as mine being raped by an American man that was a sex tourist in Cambodia”.
“And this child was so conditioned by her environment that she thought she was engaging in play.”
The actor added that his organization got a call from the Department of Homeland Security and they asked them to help find a seven year old victim who was sexually abused and her video was leaked on the internet.
“She’d been abused for three years and they’d watched her for three years and they could not find the perpetrator, asking us for help,” he said.
Its highly commendable that how a Hollywood actor is so passionate about the cause and is doing everything on his own to eradicate this disease from the world.
